What is a Regional Specialty?

For those of you that have experienced the "Greatest Poodle Show on Earth", also known as Poodle Club of America National Specialty, know it is a competition on the level of a Poodle "Super Bowl." The national specialty provides an educational experience for everyone, it is a chance to see dogs and people you have only read about; it is a chance to ask questions and get the right answers; it is an opportunity to find that special mentor; it is a poodle shopping heaven; and most of all it is a show for everyone that loves the beauty and the brains of our breed.

For those of you that have not had the experience of attending the national specialty: a regional Specialty is a way for Poodle Club of America and one of the 48 Affiliate Clubs to bring this experience to you on a smaller scale. Nothing takes the place of the National, but a Regional will certainly whet your appetite for the "real thing."

Regionals happen only once a year, when clubs are willing to join forces to host one.

2007 Regional is in Queen Mary Park in Long Beach, California. The dates are September 19th Regional, September 20 & 21 , Poodle Club of Southern California, Host Club. Followed by two all breed shows.

Sept 18th Poodle Seminar : 5 p.m.(PST)
The Poodle Club of America will be hosting a Poodle Seminar in conjunction with the Regional Poodle Club of America Specialty in Long Beach, Ca. on Sept. 18, 2007 at 5 p.m. (PST). The Seminar will be at the Coast Long Beach Hotel, 700 Queensway Dr., Long Beach, Ca. The Seminar will be presented by William Cunningham and Doris Cozart.

There will also be ringside mentoring the following day at the PCA Regional Specialty being held at the Queen Mary Events Park which is located directly across from the Coast Long Beach Hotel. For those interested in Poodles there will be three days of Poodle judging beginning with PCA Regional on Wed. Sept. 19 and the Poodle Club of Southern California (host club) Specialities the following two days at the Queen Mary Events Park.Wicket demo on wed.Pre registration suggested. Our event is followed by back-to-back all breed shows -- Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club show on Saturday and Sunday. All events superintended by Jack Bradshaw Dogshows.

TRANSPORTATION
You can fly into Long Beach (sbout 15 minutes from the location) or Los Angeles (30-35 minutes from the location). We will be having golf carts to take you and your Poodles from the Hotel to the grounds or you can walk the very short distance from your hotel room.
